Week 3: Hands and Feet
Hello, cozy artists! Hope that you are all doing well. Without further ado, let's get into this week's art study.
This week as part of my art curriculum I did an art study of hands and feet. My drawings started off really rough and I struggled quite a bit. I looked for pictures of hands doing different poses and at different angles, same with the feet. It is interesting how expressive these limbs can be. By the end of the week I felt more comfortable with my drawings but hands and feet are difficult I think for almost everyone (it certainly is for AI).
I remember when I was younger, a lot of times as students we would draw our characters but would hide their hands behind their back. And as for feet… I don’t think I really ever drew feet this detailed before. They would always be hidden inside the character’s shoes. So, this was interesting practice. It’s funny finding out how many things we actually don’t know once we are open to start learning again.
Needless to say, this is a practice that I will keep needing to do in order to really improve. I don't feel completely confident drawing anatomy yet, but this was a good refresher. How are you all with drawing anatomy?
Sorry, this week’s blog was quite short.
I value everyone in this cozy art community. And I genuinely thank you all for being here!
I wish you all the best on your personal art journeys. Take care.
